Whilst many of the
new, modern hotels being constructed in Spain are adapted to
the special needs of the elderly and disabled persons, there
are many hotels that do not have these facilities. When
making a reservation for your holiday, we advise you to
check with your tour operator that your hotel accommodation
and/or holiday is suitable for any special requirements you
may have.

The primary method of obtaining points
in a frequent flyer program is to fly with the associated
airline. Most systems reward travellers with a specific
number of points based on the distance travelled (such as 1
point per mile flown), although systems vary. In Europe, for
example, a number of airlines offer a fixed number of points
per flight regardless of the distance. The calculation
method can become complicated, with additional points given
for flying first or business class, and often fewer points
given when flying on discounted tickets.

The elderly may find it more stressful to travel over the
holidays because they aren’t used to all the traffic or all
the crowds. There are ways to make it is much easier trip
though if you plan ahead. Many elderly people take daily
medications so make sure you have plenty of it.
Put
it in a safe place where it isn’t likely to get lost. If you
have extra pills you will want to pack them separately. If
you have some in your purse and some in your luggage you are
fine if one of them gets lost.

Most major resorts have ample
provision for chemists and doctors, however, if you rely on
special drugs and/or medical aids then you are advised to
speak to your doctor before you depart for Bulgaria and make
sure you have adequate supplies for the duration of your
stay in Spain.
